Guidelines for Wearing and Caring for Pearl Jewelry

1. Handle with Care:
Pearls have a low hardness and can be easily scratched or dented. Avoid contact with hard objects or other gemstones to maintain their smooth surface.

2. Avoid Acidic and Chemical Exposure:
Composed primarily of calcium carbonate, pearls react with acids, often producing bubbles that damage their surface. It’s best to remove pearl rings when bathing or applying cosmetics, and avoid exposing them to any acidic substances that may corrode the pearl, leading to loss of luster.

3. Protect from Oils and Heat:
Pearls are sensitive to grease and high temperatures. Oils can seep into the surface and dull their shine, while prolonged exposure to sunlight or heat may cause pearls to turn brown. Keep pearl jewelry away from excessive heat and sunlight.

4. Gentle Cleaning and Storage:
Rinse pearl jewelry occasionally in pure or slightly alkaline water, then dry gently with a soft cloth. Store pearls in a jewelry box or bag, placed in a cool, dry area to preserve their natural beauty.
